NEUROSCIENCE AND ITS BRANCHES

NEUROSCIENCEneuroscience12

This multi-discipline science is the study of the brain and how it regulates behavior. The neuroscientist studies the anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry of the nervous system at both the microscopic and macroscopic levels. He is knowledgeable on how the nervous systems creates the vicissitudes of psychological experience and behavior, as well as clinical disorders. It includes teh study of he nervous system of the human brain and is closely related to the knowledge and fundamentals of biology. The scope of the neuroscience is very broad, In this study field, there is a lot to explore like molecular development, cellular development, structural and functional development and the role of neuroscientists have increased over the past few decades with the increased brain related diseases.

History of Neuroscience

There are many neuroscience organizations that are forming and have formed over the past few decades in the United States and different parts of the world. This is due to the fact the brain is such an important element of the human body and it cannot be kept isolated or ignored, the oldest organization in US is the International Brain Research Organization which was founded back in 1960, then another organization by the name of International Society of Neurochemistry was formed. The study of brain is very old and the ancient Egyptians used to take a tremendous interest in  it many centuries back. They used the techniques to operate the parts of the brain like in the modern medical science, like drilling and curing the headaches and mental disorders.

Modern Neuroscience

As the technology grew, the study of the nervous system expanded and a wide research has been done on each and every part of the brain. This way, the nervous system has increased significantly during the last few centuries. Neuroscientists can now study the nervous system very clearly and easily, they can explore how brain is structured, they can study how brain and nervous system functions and how it develops into full fledge brain into the head and how it changes during the lifetime of a human being. Neurons are the most important cells found in the brain which make the communication possible with other body parts. In vertebrates, the nervous system is divided into two parts.

The first part of the brain is called the Central Nervous System, and the second part is called Peripheral nervous system. In many species, brain and the spinal cord is found and is also the complex and complicated organ in the human body. The brain of an ordinary human being is known to have at least on billion neuron cells and they are found in thousands of different structures in the brain. It is very hard to analyze the structure of one’s brain, therefore i is a challenge to understand the proper structure of brain for a neuroscientist.

Branches of Neuroscience

The study of nervous system is gone to a very high level now, and the neuroscience is taught in various different branches and categories. The most common branches of neuroscience are Affective Neuroscience, behavioral neuroscience, clinical neuroscience, cognitive and computational neuroscience.
